Here is what you can do before your synthetic turf installation day to make everything run smoothly.
Clean and Clear the Area
Our technicians need a clean, accessible space to install your turf efficiently. Before we arrive, walk the installation area and remove rocks, fallen branches, dead vegetation, and any weeds you can pull. Arizona yards tend to accumulate gravel and caliche debris, so pay special attention to those areas. The less clearing our crew has to do, the sooner we can start excavating and building a proper base.
Move outdoor furniture, potted plants, and decorations out of the work zone. If you have large palo verde or citrus branches hanging over the area, trim them back so debris does not fall onto freshly installed turf. The same goes for any overhead drip lines or misters that could interfere with the installation.
Flag Drainage Problem Spots
Think about whether your yard has areas that pool water after monsoon rains or during irrigation. If you have noticed standing water in certain spots, let us know before we start. We can adjust the grade of the sub-base to direct water away from your home and install drainage grids that handle high flow rates. Mark Underground Utilities
Turf installation requires excavating several inches of soil. Before we dig, make sure any underground utilities are clearly marked: irrigation lines, electrical conduit, septic cleanouts, and gas lines. If you are unsure of the exact locations, call 811 to have utilities located and marked before installation day. This one step prevents costly repairs and keeps your project on schedule.
Make Access Easy
Our crew brings equipment, turf rolls, and installation materials from the truck to the job site multiple times throughout the day. The smoother that path is, the quicker your installation goes. Leave gates unlocked and propped open so we can move freely. If your gate opening is narrow, let us know in advance so we can plan an alternate route for larger equipment. Park your vehicles on the street rather than the driveway so we can pull our truck as close to the work area as possible. Give the Neighbors a Heads-Up
Synthetic turf installation involves noise from excavation equipment, plate compactors, and power tools. It is a courtesy to let neighbors know ahead of time how long the work will take so they are not caught off guard. On your end, close windows and doors and cover or store any outdoor furniture that you cannot move inside. Excavation kicks up a fair amount of dust, especially in Arizona where the soil is dry and fine. Keeping children and pets indoors during the installation is also strongly recommended.
